Daughter's Day

While in the car this week with my 4 year old, Caitlin. I had just talking with my brother about Mother's day and Grandparents day when Caitlin asked if there was a "Daughter's day"? At her young age she is already showing me how important it is to honor people in your lives. She has been hearing all week about the importance of Moms and helped in the planning of special things for me all week at school, church and home. She wanted to know if there was a day that she would be celebrated.

As a mom we do get our one day a year to celebrate the joys of being a mom. We may get papmered, breakfast in bed, lunch & dinner prepared for us and hopefully cleaned up for us, maybe a day to relax, a nap, etc. But this year I have a new perspective on things. One day a year I get celebrated for being a mom but every day of the year I am going to celebrate that I have a daughter that makes me a mom! I am a daughter, a daughter of the Lord! A daughter to my mom, and I am blessed to have 3 daugthers that have been entrusted in my care who will someday (Lord willing) be moms!

The joys of Motherhood are many and so quickly passing me by. My oldest turned 15 (yes years!) this week. Only 3 short school years and he could be heading off to college. With 3 others behind him, one of them still in diapers I have many years of children at home ahead of me, but time is short and there is so much still to teach and instill in my oldest.

I pray that I will be daily reminded to celebrate each day with my kids as if it is the only day I get to celebrate!
